The Ultimate Wedding Checklist Guideline

If you have got engaged, the next thing on top of your mind would be planning for your wedding! Wedding is an important phase in your life and you want to make it memorable not only for you, but the guests as well. You need a wedding checklist to make sure you have not skipped any element. This also avoids last-minute rush and tensions.

Here is a wedding checklist to help you through the process of planning. It doesn't matter whether you have 2 weeks or 2 years time for your wedding, you can do it!

1. Wedding Budget
This is the most important factor. Your wedding venue, the number of guests you plan to invite, the cuisine you have on your mind and the dress and accessories - they all count for your budget planning. Plan how much you can spend on each of these well in advance.

2. Wedding Date
You need to decide on the wedding date that is suitable for your close family and friends. Pick some dates and finalize on one after discussing with your near and dear ones.

3. Wedding Ideas
Start planning on the venue, your reception dress and some theme to make it interesting for the guests. Look for ideas on the internet or discuss it with your other half. Decide on the lightings and colors.

4. Guest List
Decide on whom you want to invite and how many people you want to invite.  Do you want to have a small, intimate party with a close group of family and friends or you want to make it a grand event? The choice is yours; however, the budget is the constraint!

5. Book the venue
This is to be done quickly. Especially if you are planning your wedding on a Sunday or any other special day, the venues get booked in no time and you will be left with very little choice. It is your big day and you would not like any compromises!

6. Decide on the vendors
Once you are done with the date and wedding venue, start looking for the best vendors. Your venue may have the list of vendors, so check with them. You can also look on the net to suit your taste and ideas. Once you have shortlisted, meet them in person and decide on the vendors of your choice.
Some of the vendors you need to meet are Food caterers, Photographer, Videographer, Florist, Baker, a DJ (if you want) and a coordinator.

7. Shop for those lovely dresses
Your wedding dress is your dream outfit. Look for the color and texture you have dreamt of and start shopping for your wedding dress at least 2 months prior to your wedding, to give enough time for any alterations.

8. Book rooms for your guests
If you have planned your wedding in a hotel, booking rooms will be easier. However, if it is an open space, you need to check with your venue for nearby hotels. If you have a large number of guests, you could definitely avail some discounts. The hotels will be more than glad to reserve rooms for you!

9. Inform the dates
Let your guests know your wedding dates well in advance. You can even create a wedding website and send the URL to all your guests.

10. Groom's Outfit
It is now time to decide on the groom's clothing. You can have a talk with your other half and shop together for perhaps a suit or tuxedo. Ensure that the groom's clothing gets along your dress.

11. Invitations
You can find a lot of designs for wedding invitations and you are best advised to choose a unique one, suitable to your wedding theme. Send out the invitations at least 8 weeks prior to your wedding.

12. Honeymoon
It is better to plan for your honeymoon early if you are looking to travel abroad. This way, you could check for any offers from airlines and keep your passports ready. If you do not want long travels, check for good honeymoon places and reserve a room.

13. Check your dress and accessories
Wear your wedding dress with all the accessories and see if everything fits fine. This should be done at least one month before your wedding date, so that alterations and replacements could be done, if required.

14. Party with your friends
Have a bachelor/bachelorette party and enjoy the most memorable moments with your dear friends.

15. Marriage License
Make sure you get a marriage license. The waiting period differs with each state, so you better check out with the legalities.

16. Talk to all vendors
Meet/ call all your vendors and check if everything is going well. You do not want anything to go wrong on your wedding day. It is better to make a list of all the vendors and give it to the venue.

17. Treat yourself!
Go for a relaxing manicure and pedicure, and a good shower the day before. Keep calm.
On your wedding day, have some light and nutritious food, get your make- up done and get to the venue on time. You are all set to enter a new journey!
